Was not in Singapore for a long time, but what a CLEAN place it is! It is known as the city of fines and regulations. Littering: first offense, $170. Second offense: $170 and 6 hours of picking up litter wearing a green shirt with other offenders in a public place. Chewing gum is outlawed, available only by prescription for therapeutic purposes. The amount of cars for sale every year is limited. You can get fined for not flushing a public toilet...and printed in big red letters on the bottom of the customs form that you must fill out is "Warning: Death to drug traffickers under Singapore law." Singapore don't play!
